The Fine Arts Academy is excited to announce that dance track students will be working with Juilliard dancer Hanan Misko along with his sister, professional dancer, Lillian Misko.

With a diverse background of ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and modern, Mr. Misko will be teaching classes designed to build both the technique and the interpretive skills of dance students. The dance portions of the final production will feature varying styles, while class portions will cover classical ballet technique, modern, and tap. In addition, students will participate in both Composition and Elements of Performing courses, designed to bolster a dancers choreographing skills, as well as, teach the nuance of commanding the stage and communicating effectively as a performer.

Secondary Track for Dance Students:

Students participating in the dance track must also choose a secondary track of study as a vocalist or instrumentalist. During week one dance students will devote their efforts to the dance track performance, which takes place Sunday July 18. As week two ensues, dance track students will continue work on the choreography for the final show, as well as participate in their secondary tracks for the other portions of the final performance.

Songwriting:

Are you interested in writing your own music and lyrics? Here’s your chance to get started. Songwriting classes will guide students who are just beginning, while developing experienced writers who are already hooked, blending the study of both lyric writing and musical composition. This elective will be offered daily for one hour during week one only. $75 additional fee.

Composition and Arranging:

Taught by Bill Wolaver, master arranger and composer, the composition and arranging class is designed for students interested in composing and arranging. It will focus on techniques for melodic and harmonic development, as well as orchstration.This elective will be offered daily for one hour during week one only. $75 additional fee.

Are you a dancing instrumentalist or singer?

For students who are gifted in a variety of areas, we recommend you register with dance as your primary track of study and then assign your musical track as your secondary track of study.
