Mario DaSilva

Mario DaSilva, a Brazilian guitarist and composer, has been performing all his life.  While still in Brazil, he first studied Harmony and Composition with veteran conductor and producer  Maestro Leo Peracchi, and guitar with Salvador Violla and Edmar Fenicio.  In the United States, Mr. DaSilva studied with John Pell, William Pursell, Douglas Jones, Jamie Aebersold and others.

Mr. DaSilva earned a Bachelor of Music from Belmont University, and a Master of Music from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating with honors.

He has released three albums in his career: “Meet Mario”, “Christmas Love and Light” and the latest “Mario DaSilva Plays the Beatles (for everyone)” through Rainbow at Midnight Records.  His albums enjoy national airplay from National Public Radio, the show Delilah After Dark, from Seattle Washington, and they have reached airwaves as far as Russia, Ireland, United  Kingdom, Japan, Brazil, India and others.

Mario also has also shared the stage with such players as Chester Thompson (Phil Collins),  Muriel Anderson, Rod Murgenstein (Dixie Dregs), Lari White, Chuck Cannon, Annie Moses Band, Michael O’Brien, Pedro Cortes, Little Big Town, Sierra, Nashville Chamber Orchestra, Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra, Flamenco dancers Felipe De la Rossa, Martha Sidhamed, and Mara Maldonado.  He composed the music for a Nashville Ballet  production “Ferdinand the Bull” to be performed in January 2009.

Mario works locally in Nashville, TN as a recording musician and an educator.  He is an adjunct instructor of guitar at Belmont University in that city, as well as, Trevecca University and Indiana Southeast University. He is busy performing and recording in the Nashville musical scene. As an instructor he has produced a large number of fine and active guitarists through the United States.
